All About Ms. Tran

Ms. Kelly Tran

Hello, my most amazing artists and families!  I am Ms. Kelly Tran and I'm so happy to be your art teacher this year.

This is currently my 20th year teaching in the Mercer Island School District. I've always had a deep passion for the visual arts and continue to explore new ways of creating art both in my personal and professional life.  

I taught seven years of 2nd Grade, followed by five years of 3rd Grade at Lakeridge Elementary before shifting my focus to art.  Throughout my years as a general education teacher, I always found ways to integrate art into all the subjects I taught.  Now, as the Elementary Art Specialist at Northwood and Island Park, I get to use my love of the arts and my experience as a teacher to create with kids all day, every day. 

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Puget Sound.  I completed my K-12 Visual Arts Endorsement through Seattle Pacific University and I've been a National Board Certified teacher since 2010.

I look forward to a fantastic year in the art room with everyone this year!
