Mullen, Mary (K)
Welcome to Ms. Mullen's Kindergarten Class!
Meet Ms. Mullen!
Welcome Kindergartners and Families!
I am delighted to meet you soon and am looking forward to an amazing year together! This is my 13th year of teaching, and I believe it's truly the most exciting job in the entire world! My favorite grade to teach is...you guessed it...KINDERGARTEN!
Some of the things we do in kindergarten are:
~play and laugh together,
~read lots of interesting and funny books,
~write and illustrate stories,
~paint and draw,
~build, create, and experiment!
When I was in kindergarten (a long time ago), I lived far away in a country called Okinawa. I had my own backpack, crayons, and had a special water bottle that was red and black. When I was older, I went to college at WSU (go Cougs!), and later went to graduate school at Seattle University (go Hawks!). I have 4 big kids of my own and have just made the big move from Mercer Island to Seattle this summer!
My wish for you this special year is that you LOVE school as much as I do (maybe even more!). Island Park Elementary School is a place of joy and discovery and a place people love to be!
I am looking forward to getting to meet all of you next week!
