Meet Mrs. Hamp

About Me
During my childhood, I lived in California, Peru, Pakistan and Colorado before I moved to Mercer Island and attended MI High School. I married my high school sweetheart, Andy (or as the students at Island Park call him, Mr. Hamp!), and we live on the Island where we raised our two daughters, both Island Park graduates. I started my career teaching vocal music at the high school level but have enjoyed teaching elementary music for the past 30+ years, spending the last twenty-three of those on Mercer Island. I continue to feel lucky to be able to combine my love of music with the joy I receive from working with children and the amazing Island Park staff and community.
I participate in several singing groups which perform around the area and enjoy traveling, reading, visiting with friends and family, and gardening. To find out more about my philosophy, please read about our music program at Island Park. Go Island Park Eagles!
